7 years ago, when I was 11 years old, I started building websites for family and friends. This onetime hobby has since quickly transformed my life. Now aged 18 I run a digital marketing agency with 22 staff working with brands all over the world like Pot Noodle, Virgin Group and Mazars LLP. This rapid success has lead to me becoming a professional speaker with JLA talking about my journey and how to market and engage with young people.
To be speaker at such a young age is one of the most exciting things I can think of as I love being able to travel the world and motivate people young and old. Being in business can feel really strange as often the events I go to or meetings I hold are with people a lot older than myself. At first it was quite daunting to suddenly go into an environment I was unfamiliar with, but quickly I learnt how to make the most from every occasion and feel comfortable at the events and situations I enter.
As a speaker I’ve never used much of a script, as for me I love to be able to engage the audience like it’s an active conversation – but also it’s really important to be authentic and show who I am and why I have been so successful.
My speaking career has lead to a lot of work on TV including a children’s version of Dragon’s Den called “Pocket Money Pitch”, where I was a Business Buddy (similar to a dragon). This led to invitations to celebrity events across the UK including charity football tournaments and film premieres. All of this has culminated in my being placed at the top of The Times’ Super Teen Power List. It’s really easy to get carried away or let things like this get to you, but I always ensure I am well grounded and relatable and that my business always comes first.
