Ajay has twenty-five years start-up venture experience, building disruptive new digital businesses in a wide range of industries. Selected to be part of the Asian Power 100, Ajay won Dealmaker of the Year award from M&A Magazine, is one of the Top 100 Asian tech stars and was selected as one of the Sunday Times top 100 BAME business leaders in the UK.


Ajay Chowdhury is a tech entrepreneur and writer. He has been the founder or CEO of a range of startups and raised funding and participated in selling various companies including Shazam (sold to Apple), Seatwave (sold to Ticketmaster) and LineOne (sold to Tiscali). Ajay has served on the boards of Lionhead, Department of Culture Media and Sport, Arts Council London, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and Historic Royal Palaces.

As a CEO, Ajay has over twenty-five years’ experience in digital transformations in mobile, e-commerce, digital media, digital retail and Government, and strong functional expertise in investing, sales, strategy development, product development and fund raising. He has expanded businesses in North America, UK, Europe, Israel, China, and India.

He is a Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG Digital Ventures, globally responsible for their ‘deep tech’ businesses (including Generative AI), and Chair of Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge University’s spinout arm. He was selected to be part of the Asian Power 100 - the 100 most influential and powerful Asians in the UK, thirty pioneers In Asian tech, and won the Dealmaker of the Year award from M&A Magazine for the Seatwave sale to Ticketmaster. Ajay has also been voted one of the Top 100 Asian Tech Stars and was selected as one of the Sunday Times top 100 BAME business leaders in the UK.

On stage, Ajay considers how to build a disruptive startup. He also talks about how to redefine creativity through AI, and the advantages and risks of using generative AI.

Ajay has covered tech issues with the BBC, Telegraph, FT, and The Guardian, and has published four novels including the award winning Kamil Rahman series that has been optioned for television.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
