Biography for Cecilie Fjellhøy

Cecilie Fjellhøy received international attention after she went public with her personal financial fraud nightmare. The story of the Tinder Swindler became the most watched documentary of all time on Netflix. It showcased a group of women who were the victims of a dating app-based swindler who team up to try and hunt him down and recover the millions of dollars that were stolen from them.

Since the filming of The Tinder Swindler, Cecilie has been living and working in London as a senior UX designer for Sopra Steria, a software development company. She also co-founded LoveSaid Organisation with Anna Rowe, which aims to support victims of fraud through providing practical and mental health support, as well as providing education and training on trends and strategies used by fraudsters.

As a full-time usability designer in the IT industry for almost ten years, Cecilie saw an opportunity to use the qualities and strengths she had developed to use them to further the fraud cause. She has experience working with digital identity and with the banking system. She feels it is extremely important to include victims in the discussion when it comes to changing processes, laws, and regulations, and has been traveling around the world giving talks, speeches, and presentations.

In her speeches, Cecilie shares her story to make the group more aware of fraud and financial problems as a national challenge. She talks about fraud, deceit, cyber security, digital identity, user experience, innovation, mental health, women empowerment, resilience, and bravery. The audience get an insight into what a fraud victim goes through, what they face on the other side, and what questions we have to ask ourselves.
