Charlene White

Charlene White is an award-winning journalist with over twenty years’ experience in the industry. She's worked in both print and broadcasting. Charlene began as a feature writer for the New York Post, then as a trainee producer for ITV Meridian. She then moved to the BBC to begin her broadcasting career at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra as a reporter and presenter. She later landed her own show on BBC London 94.9, presented for the BBC News Channel, BBC Five Live, and BBC Three.

At ITV she's the lead presenter of ITV News London, and a regular presenter of the Evening News. She's also the first black woman to present ITV News At Ten. Charlene has presented several documentaries for the Tonight and On Assignment strands. She was also part of the presenting team for ITV's Royal Wedding programme.

Charlene has interviewed major political figures such as David Cameron, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, global music stars such as Jay-Z, Kanye West and Beyoncé, and film and literary figures including Maya Angelou, Will Smith and Daniel Radcliffe.

Charlene joined the Loose Women team as a host and has appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

She regularly writes for publications including The Guardian and the Daily Mail, and is mentor to aspiring journalists, and works with various organisations to achieve better representation of women and minorities in the industry.  Charlene has appeared on two editions of the Powerlist, in the Top 100 of the most influential people in the UK of African/African-Caribbean descent.
