As the BBC’s Cost of Living Correspondent Colletta explains the changes and challenges in how we make, save, and spend our money.

Colletta Smith is the BBC’s Cost of Living Correspondent, and is a familiar face across all of the BBC’s main news programmes. As the main on-air correspondent covering the biggest issue of the moment, Colletta has made a name for herself by explaining complex issues in a approachable way. She regularly features in the bitesize videos on the BBC News website, daytime shows like Morning Live, and BBC’s News at Ten. In her former role as Business Presenter, Colletta fronted the Business news on BBC Breakfast, as well as being the host of BBC 5Live’s flagship economics programme Wake Up To Money. She also fronted Panorama's The Big Mortgage Squeeze, and met homeowners feeling the effects of coming off cheaper fixed-rate mortgages and adjusting to much higher bills.

Colletta has reported in the fields of business, economics, and consumer affairs, and has an in-depth understanding of how we earn, spend, and save our money. With a first-class degree in Politics from Durham University, Colletta went on study Broadcast Journalism at City University in London, before cutting her teeth for eight years as a journalist with the BBC in Belfast and Glasgow.
