Dr. Dambisa Moyo is an international economist who comments on macroeconomic and global affairs. She is the author of the New York Times Bestseller Dead Aid: why aid is not working, as well as Winner Take All, a look at the rise of China and its effect on the resources available to the rest of the world. Edge of Chaos looks at challenges to global growth and the political and economic solutions covering demography, inequality, technology, and the scarcity of commodities.
Born in Zambia, Dambisa travels extensively, and she has a particular interest in the emerging and frontier economies, including those in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Her work focuses on the implications of those rapidly developing countries for international business and the global economy, while pinpointing investment opportunities.
Previously an economist at Goldman Sachs and consultant to the World Bank, Dambisa holds positions on the board of Barclays, SABMiller and Barrick Gold as well as technology and energy companies. Her writing is published regularly in the FT and WSJ and she is a contributing editor to CNBC. She has also been named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
