Roubini’s former head of asset allocation considers opportunities, market trends and general economic conditions across the world. Based in California, she sees US growth returning to near potential over the medium term, despite divisions in Congress. Gina believes recent elections will encourage short-term policies in countries like Brazil, India and Turkey - postponing necessary structural reforms. Meanwhile Europe remains a serious source of uncertainty.

Biography

Gina Sanchez is the founder and chairwoman of asset management and economic consultancy Chantico Global. She was previously the Director of Equity and Asset Allocation for Roubini Global Economics (RGE), advising their clients worldwide on investments and assets.

Gina researches all areas of the globe, from Latin America to Africa and the Middle East, looking at investment opportunities, future market trends, and general economic conditions. She considers how the institutional world thinks about investing, the big economic trends, and the increasing labour market gap - the shortfall between the number of skilled employees and the demand for those skills.

Prior to joining RGE, Gina served as MD of Public Investments at the California Endowment, a $3 billion LA-based foundation. She also worked as Director of Public Investments at the $10billion Ford Foundation, as a Portfolio Manager and strategist at American Century Investment Management, and in Emerging Markets Research at JP Morgan.

Chantico Global was spun out of RGE in order to build on the success of RGE’s Asset Allocation consultancy with the intention of offering a wider range of services including asset management.

Alongside her role advising clients around the world, Gina is also a regular contributor and guest host on CNBC interviewing global business figures and commentating on the economy. She is frequently quoted in print and broadcast media and was a recipient of Institutional Investor’s Foundations and Endowments Rising Stars Award.
