Biography

Author, academic and management and leadership expert Herminia Ibarra is the London Business School’s Charles Handy Professor of Organisational Behaviour. She is the author of Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader, has been ranked by Thinkers50 as one of the world’s most influential management thinkers, and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network.

Before joining LBS, Herminia served on the faculties of INSEAD and Harvard Business School. Hailing originally from Cuba, she gained her Masters and Doctoral degrees at Yale. Her work covers talent management and technology, collaboration, and career and leadership development.

In her bestselling Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career she examines what it is to reinvent your career, the personal and the practical challenges. Through working with a host of managers who have made the change, she looks at the experimentation, networking and analysis required to be successful. Whilst Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader looks at the pressures on modern leaders, the barriers the hit in trying to embrace change, and how the best way to pivot is through action rather than examination.

As well as her books and academic work, Herminia regularly contributes to the Financial Times, the Harvard Business Review, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
