Biography

Jessica is the former Head of Sustainability at Innocent Drinks, where she was responsible for the company’s long-term commitment to become a model of sustainable capitalism. Jessica then became the Head of Sustainability at Huel, the cult brand that helped reinvent the nutrient drink market, before joining EIT Food as Chief Impact Officer. EIT are a leader in taking food innovation to areas of the world that need it most, with a focus on sustainability and transparent supply chains. Throughout her career Jessica has been responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and business models that have reduced environmental impact and focused on positive, responsible, and often pioneering methods of production and supply.

With over twenty years’ experience working in sustainable food and drinks, Jessica was previously Environment Manager for McDonald’s UK, and has also worked as an environmental consultant for a range of private and public sector clients in her home country, Australia. During her time at McDonald’s, she led numerous projects for their UK, European and Global operations, including the initiation of their sustainable supply chain programme and environmental management programmes for the restaurants. Many of her projects have seen the businesses she has been associated win sustainability and community awards and acclaim in both the mainstream and trade media.

Jessica explores the roles of individuals, businesses, and entire industries in creating a sustainable future, looking at business models and strategies, brand and marketing messages, community building and stakeholder engagement. She has been recognised for her leadership in sustainability in numerous publications including Ethical Corporation’s Ethical Leaders, and Forbes Magazine, and she has been named Ethical Corporation’s Ethical Leaders of the Year, alongside Barack Obama and Bill Gates. She has also been featured in Rebecca Harrell Tickell’s book, Hot Rich and Green, which highlights fifty successful women in green business.
