Susannah built businesses and created innovation initially as part of the Royal Mail brand. She’s since set up and sold a business, advised the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, and devised the Dice Matrix business model, set out in detail in her book Mind The Gap. Susannah currently is the only female licensed boxing promoter, a role she has taken up to deliver change in an unregulated sector. In her talks Susannah offers thought provoking strategies to ensure audiences challenge their normal, look at the world differently and strive for improvement out of their comfort zones.


Biography

Former Commercial and Innovation Director at Royal Mail, Susannah Schofield is a leading industry expert in strategic sales and business modelling. She is the Director General of the Direct Selling Association, and author of business strategy book Mind The Gap. She owns a Fan engagement App, which works across football, motor sports and boxing and works with hundreds of individuals to create unique content. Susannah is the only female British Boxing Board of Control licensed Boxing Promoter.

As Commercial and Innovation Director, Susannah was responsible for setting up micro-businesses within the Royal Mail Group. Previously she was Deputy Sales Director responsible for sales targets in what, with the rise of online deliveries, has become one of the most competitive business sectors in the country. Amongst a number of roles at the postal service, Susannah led a team of three hundred with the remit to establish Royal Mail as the delivery supplier of choice with SMEs all over the country. She did this whilst also balancing a drive for profit with the scrutiny and regulation that comes with being part of the state postal service.

Susannah is the founder and CEO of Pitch Sports Group, a tech company which brings fans of football, motor sports and boxing together though cutting-edge technology and innovative content creation. She has worked extensively with sports clubs to help drive sales and build relationship with fans. This has culminated in a Sports App with unrivalled technology which Susannah prides herself on ensuring is unique and produces excellent content. The content produced is regularly aired on Sky TV and her last boxing promotion fight night was aired on the BBC, the first time the broadcaster had shown boxing in thirteen years, giving credit to the changes Susannah is striving to achieve.

From her experience within the sports world, and sales and marketing background Susannah speaks about lessons in leadership, sales, and innovation, as well as building a business, motivating a team, and maintaining workplace wellbeing.

Susannah is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Key Women in Business magazine, where she continues to be an ambassador. It provides business content for female entrepreneurs and helps young women with their career choices. She also regularly appears on Woman’s Hour and various BBC Radio and Sky Sports news panels.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
