Alfie has sung with Willard White, won acclaim for La Boheme and reprised Valjean on Broadway. He’s also appeared in an orchestral version of The Who’s Quadrophenia and released an album of Italian love songs. For corporate audiences Alfie performs with guitars or 5-piece, brass and strings.

Biography

Tenor Alfie Boe is one of the UK’s leading names in popular classical, opera and stage musicals. He is best known for his portrayal of the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables.

Lancastrian Alfie broke into singing professionally via the unlikely route of his apprenticeship as a mechanic at the TVR car factory. In a near fairytale story, he was overheard by a customer of the exclusive car brand; a customer with music industry connections. He was persuaded to go to London to audition for the world famous D'Oyly Carte Opera Company.

Alfie took to his career via time at the Royal College of Music, the National Opera Studio and the Royal Opera House. His first big break on the stage came when, after a lengthy search, he was picked for the lead in Baz Luhrmann’s Broadway production of La Bohème.

After his success on Broadway, albums, tours, TV appearances, further theatrical roles and Classical Brit Awards followed. He performed with the English National Opera, at the Last Night of the Proms, and performed the role of Valjean in a concert performance of the musical Les Misérables at the O2 Arena in London to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show.
