Basement Jaxx (Felix Burton and Simon Ratcliffe) both play and create exuberant, catchy, dance music with reggae and latin overtones. Chances are, if you've been anywhere near a dancefloor in the last decade you've heard Basement Jaxx.
Their phenomenal debut album Remedy was hailed as one of the most important records of the '90s and has influenced artists from many genres. Named after the parties the pair started hosting in Brixton, their DJ sets are a mixture of disco, techno, flamenco, garage, breakbeat, funk-garage-Latin-jazz... a journey through the greatest dance sounds ever invented.
