Award-winning Scottish comedian, Fern Brady has taken the comedy circuit by storm over the past decade. Known for being totally unique and completely fearless, her caustic wit, exceptional writing and electric stage craft has made Fern one of the UK’s hottest comedy stars. Whether she’s performing a full stand-up set to an event audience or providing quick quips throughout proceedings as a host, Fern appeals to a range of demographics and is guaranteed to have her audience in hysterics.
A familiar face on the television comedy scene, Fern can be seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Alternative Comedy Experience, and Live at the Apollo. After reaching the finals of the Piccadilly Comedy Club new act competition and the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, Fern’s media profile increased, and in turn her television involvement did too, to include her own special on Live from the BBC.
Fern studied Arabic and Islamic History at university but had the underlying desire to embark on a career in comedy. After graduating and beginning a career in journalism, she started an internship with Fest Magazine, a free publication following the events of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Inspired by the acts showcasing their talents, Fern wrote an article on a comedy critic trying their hand at stand up, however, the assignment became a pivotal moment for her and was the catalyst to pursue her stand up career.
Fern is a gifted performer and her radio credits, include much involvement with Radio 4 on The News Quiz, The Now Show and State of the Nations.
Fern’s career has gone stratospheric. She has been featured in Vogue as one of the Top Five Female Comedians, as well as the Telegraphs top five young comedians to watch. She's also become a fan-favourite on Taskmaster, had a sell-out tour of the UK with her show Autistic Bikini Queen, and a sell-out run at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
