Hayley Westenra

Fee Band

‘Pure’ sold faster than any other classical debut album in UK history and went triple platinum... heady stuff when you are only fifteen. Five albums have followed and Hayley Westenra has become famous around the world for her clear, winsome voice. Solo, or with the group Celtic Woman; for presidents or football crowds; in concert or cabaret, Hayley’s singing is quite simply beautiful.

Soprano Hayley Westenra has rapidly become one of the world’s singing sensations. Her debut album, Pure, a blend of classical, light pop and traditional Maori songs, was released when Hayley was just fifteen. Selling faster than any other classical debut in UK history, the album went triple platinum.

Since then, she has released five further albums, including River of Dreams, which collects her greatest hits. Aside from her recording commitments, Hayley has wowed audiences around the world with her live performances. At the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and nationwide tours, she has played to sell-out houses. Hayley has also sung at various major sporting events, including the FA Cup Final, the European Champions League and the US NBA baseball final. Her proudest duty, however was to sing the national anthem for her beloved All Blacks rugby team.

Hayley has performed for dignitaries around the world including Her Majesty the Queen, HRH Prince Charles and Tony Blair. She sang ‘Shenandoah’ at the US Capitol, in front of George Bush and a live audience of 300,000, as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Hayley is the youngest UNICEF Ambassador to date and has worked with various charities. Her particular concerns are the environment and child poverty.

Hayley has also contributed her vocal talents to a number of film and television projects, including Al Pacino’s Merchant of Venice, The New World and the BBC production of Jekyll.
