Lulu shot to fame in 1964 with the smash hit Shout, followed by Boom-Bang-a-Bang. She’s been working ever since, with acts like Take That and Chaka Khan. Appearing with her own 6/7-piece band, Lulu’s “W-E-E-LL” still has audiences racing for the dancefloor.

Biography for Lulu

With one of the most memorable openings of any pop record, Lulu’s very first release, ‘Shout’, from 1964, is still her greatest hit. The up-tempo floor-filler propelled the Glasgow teenager to instant stardom. Three years later, the title track of the Sidney Poitier film, To Sir With Love, in which Lulu also starred, reached Number One in the United States.
Hits have followed in every decade, including The Boat That I Row, The Man With The Golden Gun and Relight My Fire, featuring Take That, which became her only UK Number 1. Famously, Lulu won the Eurovision Song Contest with the catchy Boom Bang a Bang, though that year, for the first and only time, four countries tied for first place.

A familiar face on television, from her own show in the sixties, through presenting the National Lottery, to playing herself in Ab Fab, Lulu has collaborated with musical stars ranging from David Bowie to Jools Holland and Ronan Keating.

As a cabaret performer, Lulu and her nine-piece band perform all her hits, alongside many standards from the sixties to the present day. Her warm, irrepressible personality and lively performance delight audiences wherever she plays.
