Formed to complement the Royal Philharmonic, the RPCO has a vast repertoire of instantly recognisable works – including Four Seasons, Marriage of Figaro and Swan Lake.


Biography

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1946 by Sir Thomas Beecham, and is committed to bringing music of the highest quality to the widest possible audience.

The Concert Orchestra was formed in 1987 to complement the work of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with a specialist repertoire of popular, classical and crossover pieces stretching from the great composers to musical theatre numbers, films themes and arrangements of pop favourites It has a history of working with international artists ranging from Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Montserrat Caballé, Lesley Garrett and Russell Watson to Burt Bacharach, Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and Diana Krall. They have performed for audiences from Gabon to Russia, from the Royal Albert Hall to the studios of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The sixty-five piece ensemble perform a repertoire of pieces from instantly recognisable classical works, including:

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
