Sahara

Fee Band

Mixing latin and classical influences, the Classic FM favourites have been described as ‘exhilarating’ by The Guardian. With saxophone and guest beatboxer (when needed), the all-female quartet bring drama to their music – especially the tango.

Biography

Sahara have created a new wave of classical music under the creative drive of saxophonist and composer Sarah Louise Ings. Performing a fusion of classical, tango and Latin music to pre-recorded backing tracks, live band or DJ.

Sahara also provide a range of background music suitable for all events. The girls are guaranteed to add class and sophistication, different from the usual string quartet performing with saxophone / flute. However, a full string-only quartet line-up (Secret Strings) is also available. Various other line-ups are available with more string performers, a live band, and a beatboxer if required. The London Pop Orchestra, led by Sarah, includes horn and string sections guitar, bass and drums and perform everything from Beethoven to Kylie.

In addition, Sarah Louise can perform with producer and percussionist Sam Richards providing live drum loops and a very modern take on jazz classics.

Providing a genuinely different twist on classical and jazz, Sahara in their various incarnation perform a range of pieces from classical favourites such as Ravel’s Bolero and Bach’s Air in G, to pop hits like Britney Spears’ Toxic and Sweet Dreams by The Eurhythmics and jazz standard including Summertime and Makin’ Whoopie.
