The Dark Room

Fee Band

Dare you step into The Dark Room, the world’s only live-action videogame? The deranged rock ’n’ roll game show challenges audiences to escape a room by picking options from a screen – a simple task, were it not for the sadistic gamesmaster (complete with spiked armour) getting in the way of their success.

Biography

Originally created as an interactive YouTube game, The Dark Room attracted 4million YouTube hits and attention from Variety magazine, Wired and media around the world.

After a tour of the world in which the award-winning live-action videogame was featured by BBC Edinburgh Nights and STV’s The Late Show, The Dark Room is now selling out shows from Cambodia to London.

Proceedings are ruled over by master of improvisation John Robertson, whose command of an audience was fostered as host of Challenge TV’s Videogame Nation and eleven successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe. The strength of the show lies in John’s understanding of his audience, which he researches weeks in advance. Working with crowds from 20 to over 1,000, he has hosted games for the BBC, Capcom and Rio Tinto amongst others, and has spoken at TEDx in Australia.
