The inspiration for Down The Line, Clive has been hailed emperor of talk radio. Peter Cook was once a regular caller, as ‘Sven from Swiss Cottage.’

Clive Bull’s award-winning phone-in show went out on LBC 97.3 FM for over 30 years. Its enduring success stemmed from Clive’s extraordinary rapport with his audience and his ability to move effortlessly from current affairs to the more quirky topics of the day – always sharing his opinions rather than simply playing devil’s advocate.

Clive started to build a fan base with his original late night show, on which Peter Cook was a regular caller posing as ‘Sven from Swiss Cottage.’ The Independent hailed him “The Emperor of night-time talk radio,” and the show was immortalised in a TV documentary. Clive has since picked up a Sony award and been voted Best Talk Show Host at the New York Festival. He was also the top ranked phone-in presenter in Radio Times’ list of the most powerful people in the industry.

In his early career Clive was a keyboard player, a media reviewer and a music writer. Outside radio, he has narrated a number of films for BBC Television, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky.
