Biography

Daliso Chaponda seized his chance on Britain’s Got Talent, winning the hearts of viewers and making it to the series final. His set has attracted 300 million views.

As the son of a Malawian politician and diplomat he grew up moving from country to country in Africa, attending an old fashioned British style boarding school in Kenya. He only became hooked on stand- up while completing his studies in Montreal.

Daliso quickly racked up guest appearances on The Royal Variety Performance, QI and The Apprentice: You’re Fired. He’s also become a regular on Radio 4, from The News Quiz and The Now Show to his own Rose d’Or nominated Citizen of Nowhere.

With a refreshing perspective on everything from ‘cancel culture’ to celebrity, Daliso has stormed comedy festivals from Edinburgh to Melbourne, Singapore and Cape Town. He’s also toured the UK with Blah Blah Blacklist and Apocalypse Not Now.

Offstage Daliso is a prolific writer of sci-fi, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction. His first novel awaits.
