Biography for Greg James

Greg James is a Radio 1’s Breakfast presenter who is also frequently seen on BBC2 and BBC Three.

Starting a radio career at university, Greg joined the UK’s leading pop music station as the early breakfast presenter before moving to lunchtimes and the the coveted drive-time afternoon slot. As well as the usual mix of music, chat, features and celebrity interviews, Greg has broadcast his show from Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, Glastonbury, and the Brit Awards.

A keen cricket fan Greg hosted BBC Radio 5Live’s Not Just Cricket with Graeme Swann and Jimmy Anderson, the station’s long-running panel show Fighting Talk and is co-presenter of the popular podcast Tailenders, alongside Felix White and Jimmy Anderson.

On television Greg has presented BBC coverage of all the main UK music festivals as well as the Brit Awards. He’s also fronted a range of BBC Three factual programmes covering everything from the Olympics to youth unemployment to the exploits of British holiday-makers in Magaluf. Greg and comedian Russell Kane have also presented two series together - Staying in with Greg and Russell, and Unzipped.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
