Hugo writes Times editorials and columns for the likes of GQ and The Spectator. He is also a regular guest on The News Quiz. After dinner he might explain why Miliband gives strange speeches, or why Boris thinks he’s paid someone to stalk him with a box of eggs.

Biography

Hugo Rifkind is a features writer on The Times. He has also written for The Herald (in his native Scotland), The Sunday Times, GQ, the Evening Standard, and the Daily Mail. He is also a regular panellist on Radio 4's satirical favourite, The News Quiz.

Hugo started his journalistic career in celebrity gossip and after a stint at a 'showbiz' website he first joined The Times on the paper's gossip diary. This informed his first novel,
Overexposure, based around a showbiz reporter.

Hugo now writes a weekly opinion column for The Times as well as a satirical diary for the Saturday edition in which he takes on the role of a figure in the news. He also writes for The Spectator. Published work includes comment, features, satire and interviews - frankly, he'll do pretty much anything.
