Katherine Ryan

Fee Band

The pop-culture-obsessed Canadian comic, writer, presenter and actor boasts dozens of panel show appearances, from QI and Have I Got News to A League of Their Own. She has starrred in her own Netflix specials In Trouble (2017) and Glitter Room (2019), and has presented the documentary How'd You Get So Rich? Having stormed Live At The Apollo multiple times, she is frequently likened by the press to Joan Rivers. The Guardian has described Katherine as "a comic in supreme command".

Katherine Ryan is a Canadian comedian, writer, presenter and actor. She has appeared on a huge range of panel shows and sitcoms, and has established herself as one of the leading standups in the country.

A natural performer with a superb line in pop cultural observations and occasionally outrageous, bitchy remarks Katherine has a unique, endearing charm tempering her biting comments. Her material covers the world’s obsession with celebrity, why real life doesn’t quite measure up to theirs, and speculates on the lives and thoughts of the young royals, Beyoncé, Cheryl Cole, and the Kardashians. She points out how ridiculous it is to know what Joey Essex is up to at any given moment and how turning terrorists into celebrities might help the world keep track of them. Katherine combines her biting wit with a superb affinity for audiences, drawing them in and involving them in the show.

Katherine has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You, 8 out of 10 Cats, The Apprentice: You're Fired and the Radio 4 institution The News Quiz to name just a few. As well as her own Netflix standup specials, she wrote and starred in her own siitcom, The Duchess, on the platform. She’s been a contestant on comic challenge show Taskmaster, presented How'd You Get So Rich? and appeared in BBC2’s transatlantic comedy Episodes.
