Biography for Lisa Faulkner

Lisa Faulkner first established herself as a leading actress starring in numerous TV dramas including Holby City, Spooks and Dangerfield. She then won Celebrity MasterChef and has gone on a remarkable food journey.

She presents the cookery show John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen, alongside her husband John Torode. Lisa is also a regular contributor to Lorraine having made a number of cookery strands for the show including Autumn, Winter Warmers and Christmas.

Lisa’s first cookery book Recipes From My Mother For My Daughter became an instant bestseller, reaching number one in The Times non-fiction list. She has also written The Way I Cook, Tea and Cake, and From Mother to Mother. Her first non-cookery title Meant To Be tells Lisa’s personal story and path to motherhood via IVF and ultimately adoption.

She has presented several TV programmes, including This Morning, Heir Hunters, and What’s Cooking? with Ben Shepherd, as well creating dishes in the This Morning kitchen. Lisa is a regular face on the Food Network, and presented The Big Eat alongside Matt Tebbutt and Kitchen Superheroes. Lisa is passionate about cooking with children and fronted the show Crash My Kitchen on CBBC. In the series she taught children and their families how to cook simple and healthy meals.

Lisa’s cookery skills are highly sought after for live demonstrations at food events including BBC Good Food, The Cake & Bake Show, and the Ideal Home Show. She is a proud brand ambassador for Ocado.com.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
