From Eurovision to Have I Got News, Mel is one of the most popular presenters on TV. The Independent once described her as a ‘video age Joyce Grenfell.’ Alongside Sue Perkins she has reinvented daytime TV with Light Lunch and helped make The Great British Bake Off a television institution.

Biography

Actress, presenter and comic Mel Giedroyc has appeared in sitcoms, competed in panel shows, hosted everything from Eurovision to Have I Got News For You, but it is as co-host of The Great British Bake Off, alongside her long-time comedy partner Sue Perkins, for which she is perhaps best known.

Mel and Sue wrote for French & Saunders, performed around the UK, recorded radio series, and hosted Channel 4 chat and magazine shows Light Lunch and Late Lunch. After a break the duo returned to screens with great acclaim as the hosts of Bake Off, helping make the programme a TV phenomenon and one of the most popular shows of recent years.

In additional to a variety of panel show and guest appearances, Mel has appeared as a panellist on The Wright Stuff, as a contestant on Comic Relief Does Fame Academy and Taskmaster, in various children’s programmes and in The Vicar of Dibley and Miranda. She's co-hosted Eurovision competition stages and the talent show Let It Shine, and also joined with Sue again to host their eponymous chat and cookery show for ITV.

Away from the cameras Mel is the author of several books on pregnancy and motherhood including From Here to Maternity and Going Ga-Ga.
