A Dublin native, Nico is one of the most exciting new food talents in Europe. From a young age he had his head in the cupboard and an eye over the shoulder of his grandmother learning about the depth of flavour and the variety of spice in Caribbean cooking and soul food. He is now a regular on This Morning's cookery segments.

Biography

Nico is a chef and owner of Dublin restaurant Lil Portie, which jumped into international recognition after it was featured on Vice Medias F*ck That's delicious, with rapper Action Bronson.

From a young age Nico learned from his Jamaican grandmother about the depth of flavour and the variety of spice in Caribbean cooking and soul food. Bringing this knowledge to Latin America he ran a catered event company and a restaurant in Buenos Aires for six years. His menus drew influences from Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Mexico, and combed deep Caribbean flavours and aromas, with South American zests.

Nico’s a regular on This Morning’s cookery segments. He’s also featured on RTÉ’s The Today Show, and Virgin Media’s Ireland AM. He starred as the in-house celebrity chef on the Virgin Media series Lodging with Lucy. Nico presented his own series Grill Seeker which aired on RTÉ Player. His latest show All Fired Up, is about giving you the skills, tips and recipes to help you up your grilling game and barbecue like a pro.
