Biography

Peter Dickson is a radio presenter and TV announcer who has worked on dozens of programmes and adverts over the years but is now unquestionably best known as the booming voice of The X Factor.

Peter has been involved with some of the biggest names and shows in British light entertainment. Starting out in radio, he read the news on Radio 2, and then worked with Steve Wright on Radio 1 before then working on Radio 4’s Quote Unquote.

He worked on dramas for Dennis Potter, in comedy with The Fast Show and Harry Enfield and Chums, and notably on quiz shows including Play Your Cards Right, The Price is Right, and Family Fortunes. Peter has also narrated a large number of documentaries for the Discovery channel along with ads for everything from The Sun to KFC to Emirates airlines, Peter has worked extensively on video games. He is also the voice of E4.

With a number of awards for his radio, advertising and TV work, Peter has arguably one of the best known voices in the UK.
