One of the nation's most popular presenters, Sue has moved from writing French & Saunders sketches to conducting orchestras, getting the nation baking, and exploring the Mekong River. Her quick fire, self-depreciating comedy has made Sue a household name and a firm favourite on British television for over twenty years.

Biography

Sue Perkins is an accomplished presenter, writer, actor, director, and comedian. Together with her presenting partner, Mel Giedroyc, she first entertained the nation on Light Lunch, before transferring to an evening slot titled Late Lunch. With their fresh and unstuffy style, they became a double act that has lasted over twenty-five years, including presenting seven series of The Great British Bake Off. Sue is the host of Radio 4's Just A Minute and has fronted programmes covering everything from brass bands to art to animals.

Her witty and warm presenting style won her the prestigious gig of hosting the BAFTA Television Awards twice.

Sue has appeared on numerous panel shows, on both television and radio from The News Quiz to QI, Just a Minute to Would I Lie To You. She’s explored unusual diets through the ages in The Supersizers Eat..., lived The Good Life, and considered the history of royal weddings.

Sue discovered another talent when she won the BBC’s conducting competition, Maestro, going on to lead the orchestra at Proms in the Park. As a presenter Sue’s hosted BBC2’s Insert Name Here, Channel 4’s The Big Spell, and Sky’s post-Game of Throne show Thronecast. As well as Channel 4’s The Big Food Fight, Sue has competed on MasterChef, and grilled top chefs in Cooks’ Questions.

Sue has several successful travelogues under her belt including Big American Road Trip, Along the US Mexico Border, The Ganges, and The Mekong River. Her love of the natural world brought her to narrate the Audible podcast series Earpedia: Animals/Plants, as well as hosting Radio 4’s Nature Table.

Sue’s series of twenty podcasts: An Hour or So With… reached #1 on the iTunes podcast chart soon after its release. The intimate and informal audio specials include conversations with Mary Berry, Stewart Lee, Emma Thompson, and John Lloyd.

Her memoir Spectacles garnered great reviews and reached the coveted number one spot in The Sunday Times paperback non-fiction chart. Her second memoir East of Croydon detailed Sue’s travels across South-East Asia, alongside tales of her growing up in South London.
