I. Stephanie is a solicitor and the Immediate Past President of the Law Society of England and Wales. She became the 177th president of the society and the first person of colour to be appointed to the role. She has been on the Power List of 100 Most Influential Black People, the Governance Hot 100, and was awarded the Burberry British Diversity Awards-Inspirational Role Model of the Year.
I. Stephanie Boyce is the Immediate Past President of the Law Society of England and Wales. She made history as she was the 177th person, the sixth female and the first person of colour to become president of the society. During her tenure she has successfully steered the profession through a number of world crises which challenged the legal sector including the Covid 19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
I. Stephanie has extensive experience in corporate governance, commercial, civil, public and regulatory law. She has advised some of the largest not-for-profit bodies, charities, regulators, and local and central government.
She holds a Master of Laws in global governance and public law from King’s College, University, and is a fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute. I. Stephanie is a Council member of the Law Society of England and Wales representing the Women Lawyers Division.
She is also a member of Thomson Reuters Transforming Women’s Leadership in the Law Advisory Board. She sits as a Commissioner on the National Preparedness Commission to promote better preparedness for a major crisis or incident, and the Shinkwin Commission looking at how business can harness diverse talent for success.
