Carl Donnelly

Fee Band

With a host of accolades and a Best Newcomer nomination at Edinburgh, Carl’s star is on the rise. Describing his style as ‘silly comedy,’ he delves into the trials and tribulations of surviving as a suburban man in his late twenties.

Biography

Carl Donnelly has been described as a ‘gripping, unmissable stand-up’ by The Guardian. His infectious enthusiasm recounting his various misadventures has already earned him a string of accolades - not least an Edinburgh nomination.

Carl is quickly climbing the comedy ladder, with a chatty style perfectly suited to his material. He originally thought he should push the boundaries - ‘Mr Edgy Pants’ - but after stumbling into a political minefield at an early gig, he decided to revert to ‘silly comedy’. He now tends to aim his ire more towards the sandwich making process at Subway.

Carl records a popular podcast with fellow comedian Chris Martin, once attempting the world record for the most Ferrero Rochers to be eaten in a minute. They failed. With credits including Russell Howard’s Good News, Radio 4’s 28 Acts in 28 Minutes and Grouchy Young Men, Carl’s contagious silliness is continuing to spread.
