Lee Ridley (Lost Voice Guy)

Fee Band

Despite having suffered complications with his cerebral palsy in early life, Lee was determined that his difficulty in speaking would not be a barrier to performing as a standup. With the use of an iPad and an app he has gone on to tour the UK, perform at Edinburgh, become a regular on the live comedy circuit, and win Britain’s Got Talent.

Biography

Lee Ridley, also known as Lost Voice Guy, is the first professional standup comedian in the world to use a communication aid. Having built a successful live career he went on to win Britain’s Got Talent.

Despite having suffered complications with his cerebral palsy in early life, Lee was determined that his difficulty in speaking would not be a barrier to performing as a standup. Fortunately technology was available to help, and with an iPad and an app he overcame the obstacles not just in telling jokes, but in timing them and responding to an audience.

Since winning the BBC New Comedy Award he has gone on to be a fixture on the live comedy circuit around the UK. He has also supported Jason Manford, Patrick Kielty and Ross Noble on tour, and performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Lee has stared in his own Radio 4 sitcom Ability, and also appeared on The One Show and BBC Breakfast. However it was his successful run on Britain’s Got Talent that brought him to the widest audience.
