Biography

TV and radio presenter Huw Stephens is known for his work at BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6Music and Radio 4. After joining Radio 1 as one of its youngest ever presenters, he presented new music shows and the weekend afternoon show for twenty years and remained one of the station's favourite presenters. Huw continues to dispplay his passion for new music and artists on BBC Radio 6Music. He is also a regular on BBC Radio 4, co-hosting Saturday Live. A fluent Welsh speaker, Huw presents a weekly show on BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales.

Huw has hosted live coverage of events on TV and radio including Glastonbury and Reading festivals for the BBC, and music programmes for Sky and Channel 4. He hosted the prestigious Bafta Cymru Awards for five years, as well as the NME Awards also for five years.

An accomplished presenter, Huw is a versatile DJ and host at festivals and events, whether it’s playing a selection of party favourites, hosting awards or quizzes, or linking between acts or speakers.

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
