As demonstrated in the phone-hacking scandal, columnist turned phone-in host Julia admits that most of her colleagues would fail any morality test. With wit, insight and directness she looks at Westminster, Brexit and the wider news agenda and considers what on Earth is going on.

Biography

Julia Hartley-Brewer is a political and current affairs writer and broadcaster. Now the host of the morning show on talkRadio she also presented her own weekday programme on LBC, hosting a mix of interviews and phone-in debates. She is also one of the funniest commentators and speakers to come out of the Westminster lobby and before broadcasting she was the Political Editor, Assistant Editor and a columnist at the Sunday Express.

As well as regular guest appearances on everything from Have I Got News For You? to Question Time to This Morning on television, and the News Quiz and The Now Show on radio, Julia is a respected political commentator who combines knowledge and insight with a determination to cut through the spin.

Julia brings her intimate understanding of Westminster’s leading characters to her highly entertaining and topical after dinner speeches, revealing what really goes on in the corridors of power. Never afraid of controversy she looks at the personalities and challenges facing British politics and gives her unexpurgated opinion on everything from the party leaders to Brexit.
