Before hosting Radio 4’s lunchtime news briefing Sarah co-presented the station’s flagship programme. The former stockbroker has also anchored Newsnight and conducted long-form interviews for HARDtalk.

Biography

Sarah Montague hosts Radio 4’s daily news briefing The World at One, and for almost 20 years was one of the presenters of the agenda-setting Today programme. She has also been a regular on the BBC News Channel and BBC World’s HARDtalk, and presented Newsnight and Breakfast with Frost.

Sarah originally worked as a stockbroker and Eurobond dealer before starting her own business with Nick Wheeler, the founder of the Charles Tyrwhitt shirt company. She later joined Reuters and Channel TV in Guernsey, before moving to Sky to cover business stories. When the BBC launched its rolling news service News 24, Sarah joined the corporation where she has stayed.
