Biography

The Canadian master of the deadpan one-liner has become one of the most popular live acts on the stand-up circuit on both sides of the Atlantic. He specialises in small but perfectly formed gags told at just the right pace to reveal their full ingenuity.

In the UK (where he now lives), Stewart has become a regular on Mock The Week, and has also appeared on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. Live at the Apollo, For One Night Only and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. Over on the other side of the water his TV credits include Kevin Hill and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also found himself writing for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and hosting the Canadian game show You Bet Your Ass.

As further measure of his versatility, Stewart starred in the BBC sitcom Not Going Out and popped up in sketch form on The Omid Djalili Show. He has also captivated festival audiences from Montreal to Johannesburg, and travelled the length and breadth of Britain with his aptly-named Tour de Francis, as well as supporting Ricky Gervais on tour.
