Biography

A Nigerian-Geordie, Vick has held down star status on BBC Radio 1 for some time, hosting two national shows: Life Hacks and The Official Chart: First Look. She has presented BAFTA’s Film Awards Red Carpet and has become an Amnesty International Ambassador alongside the actress Olivia Colman.

She has presented her own show for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, tracing the iconic footsteps of Carol Voderman to host a reboot of CITV classic kid’s programme HOW, as well as hosted her own six-part music series Back To Mine for 4Music and The Box. A linguistic talent, Vick taught French on BBC’s Celebrity Supply Teacher. She has also appeared as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Vick released her second children’s book Shout Out: Use your voice, save the day with former Capital Breakfast co-host Roman Kemp. She is part of the panel for the Women’s Prize For Fiction, where she and her fellow judges whittle around 144 books down to just six for the recommended shortlist.

Her podcast Songs To Live By, about the influence and importance of black music in Britain, has been commissioned for a second series.
