The ex-CBBC and late-night host has tried his hand in Dancing On Ice and Celebrity Masterchef. He’s written on fatherhood, and now works on sport.


Michael Underwood is a former CBBC presenter and backstage host on the X Factor finals, British Soap Awards and The Zone for ITV.

Originally a drama teacher, Michael famously won his role on CBBC appearing on Gaby Roslin’s Whatever You Want. Competing against two others, Michael's enthusiasm and talent led the audience to vote him overall winner. He went on to front From the Broom Cupboard and Planet Saturday and well a host of education, game and entertainment shows.

Moving away from children’s TV, Michael became showbiz reporter for GMTV covering the MTV Awards and I’m A Celebrity... and he’s since reported and presented on Surprise Surprise and Good Morning Britain. He’s competed in Dancing on Ice, has appeared on All Star Mr & Mrs with presenter partner Angellica Bell, and has guest hosted on The Wright Stuff.

Looking Ahead to International Women’s Day

We were joined by four fantastic speakers to look ahead at International Women’s Day. With the theme of this year’s event being #InspireInclusion, we were lucky enough to hear from four women who have each blazed a trail in their respective fields: CEO of Channel 4, Alex Mahon; the former Australian Prime Minister and Chair of Kings’ Global Institute of Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard; one of the leading voices in football, Eniola Aluko MBE; and broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed.
