George Egg

Fee Band

After somehow making a pancake using an iron and what food supplies were available in his hotel room, George’s debut show Anarchist Cook was born. Described by The Observer as “brilliantly funny”, George combines absurdist comedy with DIY cooking hacks.

Biography

Comedian chef, George Egg has established his own genre of entertainment, combining comedy and using unexpected equipment and alternative methods for cooking.

After spending hours upon hours in hotel rooms while on tour as a standup, and disgruntled with the cost of room service, George took it upon himself to create a three course meal with what few supplies and appliances can be found in a hotel room - from kettles to trouser presses to small cartons of UHT milk. The experience gave birth to a show that went on to win him the Edinburgh Festival Spirit of The Fringe Award and was later taken to the London stage.

George's second show, DIY Chef, an absurdist’s guide to cooking in a shed, became another instant success at the Fringe. Created after his family banished him from the kitchen for the sake of his own health, and described by The Observer as “brilliantly funny”, he demonstrates the multi-purpose nature of a car engine, how to cook with power tools and provides a wealth of creative and radical life hacks.
